Serves: 8 | Prep time: 15 mins | Cooking time: 15 mins
Ingredients:
- 35g salted butter
- 1 medium red onion (chopped)
- 400g chicken livers
- 10g honey
- Salt
- Garlic granules
- Paprika seasoning
Method:
- Prepare your chicken livers according to your preference. I like to soak them in a mixture of vinegar and water for about 20 minutes. I then pat the livers dry with paper towels to remove excess water before seasoning.
- Season the chicken livers with a pinch of salt, garlic granules, and paprika.
- In a pan, melt 10g of salted butter and sauté the chopped onions until translucent.
- Add the seasoned chicken livers to the pan, drizzle honey over them, and sauté until they are thoroughly cooked. Once done, transfer the livers to a bowl to cool.
- While the livers are cooling, melt the remaining 25g of butter in the same pan.
- Once the livers have cooled down, place them in a blender along with the melted butter. Blend until you achieve a smooth consistency.
- Transfer the chicken liver pâté into a glass jar for storage. Store it in the refrigerator, and it will remain fresh for up to a week.
